Probate

Probate is the process of paying all creditors and transferring all assets of a deceased person according to the instructions contained in a will or according to the laws of intestacy if the decedent did not make a will or if the will is found to be invalid.

New Jersey law governs the administration of Estates of all persons who reside  in New Jersey upon death. The probate process and the administration of an Estate can be complicated and confusing to those unfamiliar with the laws and stressful to families who are dealing with the emotional upheaval following the death of a loved one.

A probate attorney can alleviate the frustration, uncertainty and burden that can accompany the responsibility given to an Executor or Administrator. The services provided by the attorneys at Young & Perez include review of the Will, assisting in obtaining letters testamentary or letters of administration, working with the Executor or Administrator in the payment of debts and taxes and by determining how assets will be distributed.

Young & Perez will also provide litigation services in the event a Will is challenged. If you would like our attorneys to review your rights upon the death of a loved one, call the law firm of Young & Perez.
